Terms of Use
Version 1.0 · Effective 1 June 2026
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the FD Check platform provided by FD Check Ltd. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.
1. The service
FD Check is a software platform that helps you record, manage and report on fire-door inspections. It is a record-keeping and workflow tool to support your own competent assessments — it does not itself certify doors or guarantee regulatory compliance.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate registration details and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account and for the users you invite within your organisation. Tell us promptly of any unauthorised use.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service unlawfully or to store unlawful content.
- Attempt to access another organisation's data or circumvent security or tenant isolation.
- Reverse-engineer, resell or copy the platform except as the law allows.
- Upload malicious code or disrupt the service.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the inspection data, photographs and documents you put into FD Check. You grant us the limited licence needed to host and process that content to provide the service to you. You are responsible for having the right to upload it and for its accuracy.
5. Subscriptions, trials and billing
Paid plans, free trials and seat-based pricing are described in the app. Fees are billed via our payment processor. Discount codes, where issued, are single-use and may be restricted to a specific subscriber. Unless stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable for the period already paid. We may change pricing on reasonable notice.
6. Fire-safety disclaimer
FD Check is aligned to recognised UK fire-door guidance and supports your record-keeping; it is not a substitute for a competent person's professional judgement, and no output of the platform should be read as a statement of statutory compliance or certification. You remain responsible for your assessments and for meeting your legal duties.
7. Availability
We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may carry out maintenance and update features from time to time.
8. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss arising from your reliance on the platform in place of a competent assessment, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms. On termination you may request an export of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
